The main problem is, there are no parts, that's the bottom line. By following a simple click-through process, you can update macOS and fix the MacBook kernel panic problem. The worst part is, even though they knew about the issue for a long time already, they wouldn't replace the logic board unless your machine actually had the GPU issue (no general recall on the machine).
I actually had this problem last year and yes, ridiculous that Apple states that there is a repair program for this issue but since it's "vintage", they can't do anything. I've been to the Apple Store and, unfortunately, the Late 2011 is considered legacy by Apple and they will not do anything for me.
